V.32 - Kids Venue - MTYP - Mainstage
With wolves, witches and goblins, the story unfolds as the audience are invited to become part of the drama.

The Brothers Grimm collected their classic tales over 200 years ago. Today, award-winning interactive storyteller Eden has reimagined them for a contemporary audience. Maybe Little Red Riding Hood won't have to wait for the woodcutter to save her? There may be a house of gingerbread, but what else is waiting in the woods?

Grimm’s Fairer Tales

Stories Alive—Kids Venue – MTYP – Mainstage

Eden Ballantyne is a practiced and confident storyteller; the littles in his audience are in good hands. His warm, approachable demeanor invites children to become part of the story rather than simply watch it unfold. Using minimalist set and costume pieces, he is able to guide the audience participants through some familiar tales with light updates for a modern audience (TIL there is indeed a Sister Grimm).

The show’s greatest strength is its simplicity. Ballantyne never overcomplicates the material, trusting his own skill and the enthusiasm of his young participants to carry the performance. The result is an accessible, interactive show that celebrates the enduring magic of fairy tales while making room for a few fresh interpretations along the way.
