Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales—Kids Venue

Hello! I’m the Legal Guy! Come check out Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales at MTYP. If you don’t, you will be visited by the Stinky Cheese Man himself. He is the big CHEESE, so you better make GOUDA and oblige even if you disa-BRIE. I know, I’m probably making you CURDLE. If it helps I’m writing this from a dark room where I’ll be forever PROVOLONE-ly. Any complaints can be sent to the FETA Business Bureau.

What would you get if Bill Nye the Science Guy and Beaker from the Muppets had two love children raised by the Blue Man Group? You’d get an absurd investigation of instant gratification and celebration of the scientific method, an audience participation show for people who hate audience participation, a show that sparks the utter joy of losing yourself to curiosity. You get The Professor and The Lab Assistant in… FOR SCIENCE! www.smallmatters.ca

Palabra Flamenco

Palabra Flamenco: Fox Woman—Asper Centre for Theatre and Film (U of W)

A lonely hunter returns to his hut to find a powerful creature, part woman and part fox, cooking stew. She turns, and says, “I will be the woman of this hut.” A mercurial love affair ignites. But what happens when we accommodate too much? When the domestic and the wild are uneasy together? And when someone we love becomes violent, do we recognize it? Do we leave? Palabra Flamenco: Fox Woman is magnetic storytelling and passionate flamenco dance and guitar.

Charles Adrian as Ms Samantha Mann

Dear Samantha—Planetarium

A well-meaning spinster librarian who is not needed so much in the library these days, the very British Ms. Samantha Mann has been looking for another outlet for her talents. Luckily for us, she has decided to share her wisdom with the world. In Dear Samantha, she reveals what it is like to be what we Brits call an Agony Aunt. “It’s rather like being a therapist,” explains Samantha, “but without the training.” Find her on the Youtube at youtube.com/mssamanthamann.
